If Poodles are my first love, Schnauzers have to be my second! I have owned and bred Schnauzers for 18 years. I never met a Schnazuer I didn't like and many buyers are on their 4or 5th family Schnauzer. Everyone has a "happy" Schnauzer story. From a breeder's standpoint, the Schnauzer has the same great no shedding/no allergy characteristics as the poodle. They are very loving and mellow and make great family pets. The common Schnauzer colors are salt/pepper & black/silver, so when I found them in Parti colors I was very excited. I have spent years studying color genes in the Poodle breed and specialize in Parti poodles. Now I want to see if all that knowledge will follow through into the Schnauzer breed. In searching for the perfect breeding stock for my Schnauzer program, I wanted only the best from a well planned breeding program. I wanted many generations of consistent breeding to the Schnauzer standard along with health and personality, all the things that are equally important for my Poodle breeding program. It was also essential that they have years of Parti color background. I am proud of the fine quality dogs I am starting the Parti breeding program with and plan to improve on it as I have done with my Poodles. Here are my dogs. Note I have brown/white Parti, black/white Parti and an unusual solid brown pup. I am excited to see what can be produced by my foundation dogs. Also included are relatives of my dogs, belonging to my sister in B.C. Canada, and a friend located near me.
Schnoodle SCHNOODLES - cross AKC parents of each breed and you have a hybrid - a Schnoodle. Schnoodles look similar, but come in different sizes and colors. For those who love all the great qualities of the Poodle and Schnauzer, yet don’t want to buy a purebred of either breed, the Schnoodle may be the Designer pup made to order for you! The fabulous poodle is currently being crossed with all breeds and producing many cute and different hybrids. Using the poodle definitely adds “smarts” and in some crosses it helps to cut down on shedding. The Schnoodle is a unique cross. First, neither the Poodle or the Schnauzer shed and both breeds are hypo-allergenic. The Poodle takes the “chunk” out of the Schnauzer, while the Schnauzer takes the refined and pointy head away from the Poodle. Schnoodle weights range from 6 to 13 pounds, depending on the sizes and weights of the parents. Body size can be short to tall and leggy, yet overall, Schnoodles generally seem to be lighter than either the Poodle or the Schnauzer. Schnoodles are more refined and not quite as square or blocky as the Schnauzer, but because the body structures are similar, Schnoodles have a nicely proportioned body. The coat is soft and wavy. It is no surprise that the Schnoodle personality is laid back and very loving, because both parent breeds have these same qualities. Colors range from dark with some silver to very dramatic black/silvery white combinations. The Parti Schnoodle has not been available, until now………………….. SO just what does a Schnoodle look like? These photos show you that with a haircut they can look like a Schnauzer, or left leave them “fuzzy” and they take on a whole different appearance!
